How To Become A Creative Students.

How To Become A Creative Thinker.

Introduction.

If you want to be more creative, there's no shortage of advice out there on how to go about it — but most of it is focused on what you should do.

In this article, we show you how to become more creative by doing less: by questioning assumptions and looking for inspiration everywhere.

Question Assumptions

The most common barriers to creative thought are assumptions. To get around them, you need to become aware of your assumptions and question them.

Assumptions are things you take for granted. You don’t even know they exist most of the time. They can be:

Personal: My boss is a jerk.

Cultural: It’s always been done this way.

Functional: It works better this way than any other way we could do it.

If you want to become more creative, then you need to question your assumptions, so that they no longer hold power over your thinking process and help you arrive at new ideas and solutions.

The most common barriers to creative thought are assumptions because they lead us down paths that aren’t necessarily true or correct—they just appear to be true based on our past experiences with similar situations in the past (and even if those experiences were positive or negative).

To get around them, there are two things I recommend doing:

firstly being aware of what your assumptions are; secondly, asking yourself whether those assumptions really hold true anymore (or ever did).

Adopt a Beginner's Mindset: When you're new at something, you don't know any better. You're open to trying new things.

The mindset of a beginner is useful in many situations, but especially when you're trying to start something new.

You don't know what you don't know yet, and that's a good thing. You're open to trying new things and learning from your mistakes, instead of just giving up because it wasn't the first time you tried something that failed.

When you adopt this mindset, it helps make it easier for you to learn about new things without being afraid of failing or making mistakes along the way because those are part of learning any skill!

Look For Inspiration Everywhere:

Too often we become engrossed in our work and fail to look outside our silos for inspiration.

Look for inspiration everywhere:

Look for inspiration in books and magazines.

Look for inspiration in other people.

Look for inspiration in nature.

Look for inspiration in your own life experiences (for example, a time when you failed miserably or made a significant mistake).

Look for inspiration in other industries, fields of work, and professions that are similar to yours (for example, if you're an author who writes about travel destinations then look at what types of marketing materials airlines use to attract customers.)

Play More

Whether it's playing with a child or a pet, making time for play helps keep you relaxed and carefree — two key ingredients for creativity.

Plays is a great way to relax and get your mind working. By playing with a child or pet, you teach yourself how to be more creative.

Keep a Positive Attitude: Creative people are passionate about their work. They love what they do, but they also see failure as a learning opportunity rather than something to be feared or avoided.

A positive attitude will help you to keep going

If you’re passionate about your work, enjoy the process and are willing to fail a few times along the way—you won’t be as easily discouraged by setbacks.

You may not always get it right first time but that doesn’t mean you shouldn't keep trying new things until you find something that works for you. Be open to learning from mistakes, take criticism on board and don't give up too soon!

Have a Growth Mindset: The difference between the growth mindset and fixed mindset lies in the way people view success and failure.

The difference between the growth mindset and fixed mindset lies in the way people view success and failure.

People with a fixed mindset believe that intelligence, talents, and abilities are innate gifts from birth. They view good or bad performance as evidence of their inherent ability at a given task.

For example, if you have an SAT score of 800 on your first try, you might think "I'm smart!" because it indicates an innate talent for math or reading comprehension.

On the other hand, if you get a lower score than expected—say 650—you might think "I must not be very smart."

Instead of focusing on developing strategies to improve your scores (like learning how to time yourself better), people with this attitude will focus instead on what they already know (or don't know) about themselves: their personality type is introverted; they are spiritual; etcetera . . .

Become Intentionally Naive:

Knowing less can often help you think more creatively. That's because the less you know about something, the more fascinated you'll be by it, leading to more questions and connections being made in your mind.

It's important to know less about something in order to have the right amount of curiosity and wonder.

Knowing too much about something can often lead to little questions being answered, which means that there are fewer connections left for you to make on your own.

Knowing less can help us think more creatively because it leads us down new paths of exploration and discovery.

We'll be asking more questions and looking for different answers than someone who knows a lot about the subject at hand - even if both people are using the same information!

Be Curious About Everything: It takes curiosity to be creative.

If you're not curious about life and its many contradictions, it will be difficult for you to see things differently or see possibilities where others see nothing at all.

Curiosity is the desire to learn, know, explore and understand things.

If you’re not curious about life and its many contradictions, it will be difficult for you to see things differently or see possibilities where others see nothing at all.

Curiosity is the energy that fuels creativity because it allows us to take risks with our ideas, ask questions about everything and look at things from different points of view.

Curiosity can be dangerous because it leads people into dark places where they find out things about themselves or others that may not make them very happy.

But curiosity is also a gift because it forces us to live in the present moment instead of worrying about what happened in the past or worrying about what might happen in the future.

Being curious means having an open mind which allows us as humans beings (the only animal species on earth capable of doing so) have freedom which gives us self-determination over our lives - something no other creature has been able to do until now!

Conclusion.

If your goal is to become a more creative thinker, then the good news is that it’s not as difficult as you might think.

All it takes is a little practice, some self-awareness and an open mind. Just remember not to get discouraged when things don't go exactly as planned — this is part of the process!

Think about how valuable these lessons can be in your personal life too, from learning to play an instrument or speak another language to connecting with new people at parties or networking events.
